Two Bangladeshis Arrested In Seeb For Aiding Infiltrators

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has confirmed the arrest of two Bangladeshi nationals in the Wilayat of Seeb for their involvement in aiding and abetting infiltrators attempting to enter Oman illegally. The arrests come as part of ROP’s intensified operations targeting networks and individuals facilitating unauthorized border crossings and violating national immigration laws. The suspects were taken into custody after a coordinated operation involving surveillance and tip-offs from community sources.

According to ROP, investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were actively engaged in transporting and sheltering illegal entrants, providing them with false documentation and logistical support. These actions constitute a serious breach of Omani law and pose threats to national security and public safety. Authorities have reiterated the importance of safeguarding borders and the consequences of facilitating illegal immigration.

The police have emphasized their zero-tolerance approach toward such crimes and urged the public to report any suspicious activities linked to illegal entry or harboring of infiltrators. The ROP has also strengthened its border monitoring systems and continues to collaborate with other security bodies to clamp down on such offenses. The arrested individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures.

The Royal Oman Police continues to remind residents and expatriates alike of the importance of adhering to the country’s immigration laws. Harboring or assisting infiltrators is a punishable offense under Omani law, with penalties that may include imprisonment, fines, and deportation. The authorities remain committed to maintaining the rule of law and ensuring the security and stability of the Sultanate.
