Tropical Weather System Over Arabian Sea Weakens Gradually

MUSCAT: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed that the tropical weather system over the Arabian Sea is gradually weakening, though convective cloud flows continue to move toward Oman. Satellite imagery and weather monitoring data show persistent cloud activity across various regions of the Sultanate, suggesting the likelihood of scattered rainfall over the coming three days. Meteorologists indicate that while the system is losing intensity, localized heavy showers may still occur in certain areas, particularly in coastal and northern regions.

The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center has projected that the weather system will further weaken and dissipate within the next 24 hours. Despite this, authorities have cautioned that intermittent rainfall could still affect different parts of Oman, potentially impacting road conditions and outdoor activities. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant to sudden changes in weather patterns, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

CAA officials continue to closely monitor satellite images, radar data, and weather charts to track cloud movements and rainfall patterns. Coordination with local emergency management and municipal authorities ensures that timely alerts can be disseminated to the public. These measures are designed to minimize disruptions and ensure public safety during the period of continued cloud activity and occasional rainfall.

The authority has urged the public to remain updated through official channels, including weather advisories, CAA announcements, and social media platforms. Citizens are encouraged to follow instructions, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, and stay informed about potential changes in rainfall intensity. The ongoing monitoring reflects Oman’s proactive approach to weather-related hazards, aiming to protect life, property, and critical infrastructure across the country.
