Tourism Firms Must Display Licence Numbers Clearly

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has called on all tourism companies and institutions in Oman to ensure their license numbers are prominently displayed on all promotional and operational platforms. This includes social media accounts, advertisements, brochures, websites, and any materials related to tourism programmes. The directive comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to boost transparency and consumer confidence within the sector.

This measure is intended to help tourists and customers identify legitimate operators and avoid dealing with unauthorized or unlicensed entities. The presence of a visible license number allows the public to verify the authenticity of the company and ensure they are receiving regulated and approved services. It also facilitates better monitoring and enforcement by the Ministry.

Companies found failing to comply with this directive could face penalties, including suspension or cancellation of their tourism licenses. The Ministry emphasized that the new measure is not optional but a mandatory compliance requirement for all tourism operators across the Sultanate.

The Ministry urges all tourism institutions to update their platforms without delay and to ensure that the license number is displayed in a clear, readable, and consistent manner. This step forms part of a broader regulatory framework aimed at enhancing service quality, maintaining professionalism, and aligning with Oman’s vision for sustainable tourism development.
