SOUTH AL BATINAH: In a swift and heroic response, three children were rescued from a near-drowning incident in South Al Batinah Governorate. The event unfolded at a local water body where the children, who were reportedly playing near the edge, fell into deep water. Nearby individuals quickly noticed the situation and immediately intervened, managing to pull all three children out of the water before the arrival of emergency services.
Medical teams on site provided immediate first aid to the rescued children. The prompt administration of basic life-saving techniques was crucial in stabilizing their condition. Paramedics confirmed that the children were conscious and breathing upon treatment and did not require advanced medical evacuation. They were later transported to a nearby health facility for further observation and recovery assessment.
Authorities praised the bystanders for their quick thinking and action, which played a critical role in preventing a tragedy. Local officials urged the public to remain vigilant around water sources, particularly when children are present, and emphasized the importance of adult supervision and water safety education to avoid such incidents.
The South Al Batinah Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority continues to stress the necessity of public awareness regarding drowning risks, especially during warmer months when water activities increase. Public campaigns and safety initiatives are being expanded to include more outreach in coastal and inland communities to ensure families are better prepared to prevent and respond to similar emergencies.
