The Fifth Annual Festival In North Al Batinah Highlighted Integration For Persons With Disabilities.

MUSCAT: The General Directorate of Culture, Sports, and Youth in North Al Batinah Governorate recently organized the fifth annual festival for persons with disabilities. This event aimed to provide a platform for social integration and empowerment of individuals with disabilities.

The festival featured various activities, including an exhibition of handicrafts and handmade items produced by persons with disabilities from Al-Wafa Centers for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities. The event also included performances, arts, and entertainment, creating a vibrant atmosphere that encouraged participation and community engagement.

Mohammed bin Ali Al-Farsi, Director of Sports and Youth Activities in North Al Batinah Governorate, emphasized that the festival plays a significant role in promoting social inclusion. The activities allowed individuals with disabilities to interact with their community, offering them experiences beyond traditional educational settings and broadening their horizons.

Al-Farsi further highlighted that such events contribute to the development of social communication skills among participants, empowering them with knowledge, information, and skills to enhance their involvement in society. The festival also fostered a sense of belonging and encouraged positive societal engagement for people with disabilities.

The festival was organized in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education in North Al Batinah, the Association for Disabled Children in Sohar, and Al-Wafa Centers for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Sohar, Al-Khaboura, and Al-Suwaiq. Through this partnership, the event successfully brought together a wide range of participants, showcasing the importance of community-driven initiatives in promoting inclusion and equality.
