Royal Decrees Issued Ratifying Air Services Agreements

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman has issued three Royal decrees, ratifying air services agreements with Suriname, Uganda, and Seychelles. These agreements were signed on October 23, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, marking a significant step in strengthening Oman’s diplomatic and transport relations globally. The decrees are part of Oman’s ongoing efforts to expand its international air connections and foster deeper ties with countries around the world.

Royal Decree No. (67/2024) ratifies the air services agreement between Oman and Suriname. This agreement aims to facilitate air transport between the two nations, which will promote economic and cultural exchanges. The decree, signed in Kuala Lumpur, ensures that both countries will benefit from enhanced air connectivity, boosting trade, tourism, and business opportunities.

Royal Decree No. (68/2024) ratifies a similar agreement with Uganda. This agreement further establishes Oman’s commitment to enhancing its international relationships through aviation, which plays a pivotal role in global connectivity. The cooperation is expected to open up more direct flights, which will be beneficial for both business travelers and tourists seeking to explore new markets and destinations.

Royal Decree No. (69/2024) deals with the air services agreement between Oman and Seychelles, focusing on expanding the aviation routes between the two countries. This agreement is another step towards strengthening Oman’s position as a regional transport hub, facilitating easier travel for both leisure and business purposes. With these three decrees, Oman is reinforcing its role in the global aviation network while fostering greater international cooperation.
