MUSCAT: The Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Farms and Gardens and the Royal Hospitality, is participating in the Muscat Flower Festival as part of the Muscat Nights 2024 activities. Their display, which features a combination of natural and artificial roses in innovative arrangements, aims to showcase the beauty of nature and the creativity of Omani craftsmanship. The event, held at Qurum Natural Park, highlights Oman’s rich floral heritage and the skillful artistry of its people.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Royal Court Affairs’ participation is the inclusion of unique roses named after significant figures in Omani history. These include the Sultan Qaboos Rose, the Sultan Haitham Rose, and the Lady Sayyida Ahad Rose. In addition to these, the display features locally grown flowers such as the tube rose and orchids, which have been carefully cultivated within Oman. The garden design and floral arrangements at the festival also emphasize the importance of preserving and celebrating Omani flora.
The exhibit is further enriched by a diverse range of international flowers, including the fragrant O’Hara rose, lilies, chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, anthuriums, and heliconias. These flowers are skillfully arranged in creative and visually captivating designs. The display serves as a fusion of local and international floral artistry, allowing visitors to appreciate the global influence while honoring Oman’s botanical heritage.
Highlighting the pinnacle of creativity, the Royal Court Affairs has also included large flower sculptures in the exhibit. Notable sculptures include a vase crafted entirely from roses, shaped like a peacock, and a rose-arranged crown. These intricate sculptures showcase the exceptional floral design skills of Omani artisans and add an extra layer of artistry to the festival. This participation underscores the importance of Omani craftsmanship and serves to enhance the nation’s cultural presence in global events.
