ROP Arrests Two Yemenis For Illegal Entry In Duqm

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) in Al Wusta Governorate have confirmed the arrest of two Yemeni nationals for illegally entering the Sultanate. The arrests took place in the Wilayat of Duqm following a targeted operation by security forces. According to the authorities, the individuals were intercepted after intelligence reports indicated unauthorized entry through remote coastal areas, which are often exploited by illegal migrants due to their geographical isolation and limited surveillance.

ROP officials stated that the suspects were detained as part of broader security measures aimed at curbing illegal immigration and ensuring compliance with national laws. These measures form part of Oman’s ongoing strategy to safeguard its borders, especially in regions with high exposure to infiltration attempts. The operation reflects the vigilance of law enforcement agencies in maintaining internal security and preventing activities that could pose social or economic challenges to the country.

Following the arrest, the suspects were transferred to the relevant legal authorities to initiate judicial procedures in accordance with Omani law. Officials emphasized that the case is being handled with strict adherence to legal protocols, ensuring due process while reinforcing the country’s zero-tolerance stance toward illegal entry. Authorities also highlighted that such violations not only breach immigration laws but can also lead to security risks if left unchecked.

The Royal Oman Police continue to urge residents and citizens to report any suspicious activities or individuals who may be entering the country unlawfully. Public cooperation is seen as a critical component in supporting national security efforts. Meanwhile, the ROP reiterated its commitment to intensifying patrols and deploying advanced monitoring systems in vulnerable border regions to prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring the stability and safety of Oman’s communities.
