Renaissance Services Supports Fifth Annual Festival for People with Disabilities

MUSCAT: Renaissance Services extended strong support to the Fifth Annual Festival for People with Disabilities, held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, the festival ran from November 30 to December 4, 2024, with over 1,100 participants taking part in various activities.

This initiative highlights Renaissance Services’ dedication to fostering inclusion and empowerment within the community. The festival provides an opportunity for individuals with different abilities to be integrated into mainstream society, offering access to sports and cultural experiences while raising awareness of the challenges they face.

A key feature of the event was the Festival Village, which featured cultural, health, and informational exhibits. Among the displays was a unique simulation of the daily challenges experienced by people with disabilities. In addition to the exhibits, the festival included a wide range of sports activities tailored to different disabilities, such as athletics, wheelchair basketball, badminton, goalball, football for the hearing impaired, boccia, bowling, and traditional games.

Renaissance Services’ involvement underscores its ongoing commitment to promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities for people with disabilities, aligning with the broader goal of fostering a more inclusive society. The event highlighted the importance of raising awareness and breaking barriers for people with disabilities, ensuring they have the support needed to thrive in various aspects of life.
