MUSCAT: Under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Oman celebrated a grand student festival themed “Oman’s Renewed Renaissance” at Al Fateh Square in the Muscat Governorate. The event, held on Saturday, witnessed the gracious presence of Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman. The occasion was a proud display of the nation’s cultural and national heritage, emphasizing Oman’s progress and unity under its visionary leadership.
Before the arrival of His Majesty Sultan Haitham, the road leading to Al Fateh Square was lined with 1800 citizens and folklore troupes from various governorates. These participants, along with the Royal Music Band, camel riders, and knights, created an awe-inspiring spectacle as they chanted words of loyalty, pride, and gratitude for His Majesty. Their enthusiasm reflected the deep bond between the Omani people and their leader, showcasing the unity and cultural richness of the Sultanate.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival at Al Fateh Square, he was warmly received by Dr. Madiha Ahmed al Shiabaniya, Minister of Education, and Shaikh Sabaa bin Hamdan al Saadi, Secretary General of the National Celebrations. The ceremony began with an air of grandeur as the music band played the Royal anthem, marking the official commencement of the festival. The event was meticulously planned to highlight Oman’s ongoing journey of progress and the pivotal role of its citizens, particularly the youth.
The festival was a vibrant celebration of Oman’s “Renewed Renaissance,” highlighting the nation’s cultural heritage, educational advancements, and collective aspirations.
