MUSCAT: The 2025 state budget places significant emphasis on education, with a strategic focus on constructing 22 new government schools across Oman. His Excellency Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Education, announced that 39% of the total budget for 2025 is allocated to the education sector. This investment encompasses not only the construction of 22 new schools but also the completion of 20 schools currently under development. Additionally, the budget outlines tenders for further projects, including the construction of nine government hospitals, the expansion of the Muscat highway, and the development of new ports and dams, demonstrating a holistic approach to advancing Oman’s infrastructure.
The education budget also aims to accommodate over 45,000 students entering grade one in the upcoming academic year.
