Oman Partners with WEF for Fourth Industrial Revolution Center

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology has signed a landmark agreement with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to establish a Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) in Oman. This collaboration underscores Oman’s commitment to advancing technological innovation and integrating modern solutions to drive economic growth and sustainability.

The 4IR Center, set to commence operations in the first quarter of 2025, will serve as a hub for research, collaboration, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies. It will address key areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, Internet of Things, and robotics, aiming to strengthen Oman’s competitiveness in a globalized economy.

This initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, emphasizing innovation as a key driver for economic diversification. The center is expected to foster partnerships between government, private sector entities, and academic institutions, ensuring that Oman stays at the forefront of global technological advancements.

By collaborating with the World Economic Forum, Oman aims to benefit from WEF’s extensive expertise and global networks, ensuring the successful implementation of transformative technologies across various sectors.
