Oman Participates In Second Gulf Housing Conference Kuwait

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the Second Gulf Housing Conference and Construction Exhibition in Kuwait, running until 6 September 2025, under the theme “Sustainable Housing.” The event focuses on key aspects of residential planning, real estate development, public-private partnerships, financing mechanisms, and the integration of technology in housing solutions. Oman’s involvement highlights the country’s commitment to sharing best practices in urban planning and sustainable development that enhance social well-being and overall quality of life. The conference also provides a platform for knowledge exchange and strengthening regional collaboration in addressing modern housing challenges.

At the exhibition, Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning pavilion showcases strategic future city projects, integrated residential neighborhoods, and housing schemes. Visitors are presented with diverse housing options and services aimed at establishing balanced urban environments that meet current needs while anticipating future growth. The display reflects Oman’s proactive approach in creating sustainable urban communities that align with long-term development plans and promote livable, well-structured cities.

Conference sessions include panel discussions addressing critical housing issues across the GCC region, focusing on improving service quality for citizens and enhancing the adoption of smart infrastructure solutions. Topics covered include digital transformation in real estate, technological innovations in urban projects, and strategies to boost efficiency in city planning. These discussions reflect the ongoing regional commitment to sustainable development, smart city initiatives, and innovative solutions for urban challenges in the housing sector.

Oman presented a paper titled “Integrated Residential Neighborhoods and Schemes – The Sorouh Experience in the Sultanate of Oman,” highlighting successful sustainable urban projects under Oman Vision 2040. The presentation addressed challenges such as population growth, unplanned urban expansion, and high infrastructure costs while demonstrating how integrated neighborhoods reduce costs, increase population density, strengthen family stability, and stimulate local economic growth. Plans for an additional 60 projects by 2030 were also outlined, showcasing Oman’s forward-looking approach to sustainable urban development and long-term investment in community infrastructure.
