MUSCAT: The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), has announced the launch of recruitment for several positions targeted at male applicants for the 2025 intake of pilot officer cadets and university air force cadets. This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to attract highly motivated Omani youth to serve in the nation’s military and contribute to the operational readiness of its air defence capabilities. Eligible candidates will undergo a rigorous selection process that includes academic assessment, medical fitness tests, physical endurance evaluations, and personal interviews. Successful applicants will be enrolled in specialised training programmes designed to equip them with technical knowledge, leadership skills, and aviation-specific expertise.
According to the Ministry, the recruitment drive aligns with national objectives to empower Omani nationals, enhance job opportunities in the defence sector, and foster a new generation of professional air force personnel. Candidates selected under the pilot officer cadet programme will receive advanced flight training and instruction in navigation, aircraft systems, and combat strategy. University air force cadets, meanwhile, will undertake military-academic programmes geared toward producing commissioned officers capable of supporting operational planning, logistics, and administrative functions within the Royal Air Force of Oman. Both tracks are intended to promote career development pathways that blend military discipline with intellectual and technical proficiency.
Applications are open to Omani male citizens who meet the stipulated age, educational, and physical requirements. Applicants must hold relevant secondary school or university qualifications, maintain high standards of personal conduct, and be medically fit for aviation-related duties. The Ministry of Labour has indicated that application procedures will be managed through its official registration portal, with deadlines for submission clearly communicated to prospective applicants. Emphasis has been placed on transparency and efficiency in the selection process to ensure the recruitment of the most capable and deserving candidates.
The Ministry called on eligible youth across the Sultanate to seize this opportunity and contribute to the country’s security and defence efforts. It further highlighted the Royal Air Force of Oman’s reputation for excellence in training and professional development, noting that recruits will benefit from world-class facilities, experienced instructors, and post-training career options within the wider defence sector. Interested applicants are advised to monitor official communications issued by the Ministry of Labour and RAFO for detailed requirements, application schedules, and instructions.
