Oman Launches ‘Aman’ Campaign For World Day Against Trafficking

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman has launched a national campaign named ‘Aman’ (Safety) to mark the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons observed on July 30. The campaign aims to raise awareness about human trafficking and emphasize the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation and abuse. It reflects Oman’s commitment to combating this global issue through education, prevention, and cooperation across various sectors.

The campaign involves coordinated efforts by the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking and includes public awareness activities, workshops, and informational materials targeting different segments of society. Authorities seek to engage government bodies, civil society organizations, and the private sector to work collectively in identifying and assisting victims while promoting legal enforcement measures against traffickers.

Through ‘Aman,’ Oman aims to highlight the human and social costs of trafficking and advocate for stronger protections and support systems for victims. The campaign also stresses the importance of international collaboration, given the cross-border nature of trafficking crimes, to disrupt criminal networks and ensure justice.

The initiative forms part of Oman’s broader strategy to uphold human rights and foster a safe, secure environment for all residents and citizens. By championing awareness and action, the campaign contributes to the global fight against trafficking and reaffirms Oman’s role as a responsible member of the international community.
