MUSCAT: Oman’s Ministry of Labour has confirmed that the wage support initiative will now be implemented on an annual basis, reflecting a major step toward stabilizing the domestic labour market. The expanded funding, which has doubled to RO 100 million under His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s directive, aims to create or sustain over 25,000 jobs for Omani citizens each year. This approach ensures that the private sector receives consistent support to hire and retain local talent, promoting both employment security and economic growth across multiple industries.
His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, emphasized that the programme aligns with the Sultan’s vision of a competitive and empowered workforce.
