Oman Exhibits SME Innovation At Regional Trade Event

MUSCAT: Organized by OPEX, the exhibition in Muscat showcased a diverse range of Omani SMEs from sectors such as food, perfumes, luxury goods, and technology. The event provided a platform for these businesses to promote their products and services, facilitating their entry into regional markets. Dr. Saif bin Khamis Al Maamari, Head of the OPEX Operational Team, emphasized the event’s role as a crucial space for building long-term partnerships, while also driving efforts to increase non-oil exports from Oman.

Reem bint Mubarak Al Alawi from the Authority for SME Development (Riyada) highlighted the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of Omani enterprises. She stressed that the exhibition serves as an opportunity to foster strategic collaborations between Omani and Kuwaiti businesses. Al Alawi also underscored the importance of showcasing Omani innovation and expanding the market presence of local products, ensuring they resonate on an international scale.

The exhibition serves as a significant milestone in the growing trade relationship between Oman and Kuwait. By promoting Omani products, it strengthens the economic ties between the two countries, creating new opportunities for Omani goods to enter the Kuwaiti market and beyond. The event provided a dynamic environment for Omani businesses to demonstrate their offerings, positioning them for greater success in the regional market.

The event’s success reflects the ongoing efforts of the Omani government to diversify the economy and expand the global footprint of its SMEs. As part of a broader initiative to support local businesses, the exhibition aimed to raise awareness of Oman’s capabilities in various sectors, contributing to the broader economic diversification goals of Oman Vision 2040. By strengthening Omani SMEs’ presence in regional markets, the event plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Oman’s economy.
