Oman Condemns Israeli Attacks On Syrian Sovereignty

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed firm condemnation of the Israeli military attacks on the Syrian Arab Republic, stating that such actions represent a serious violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law. The statement, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed Oman’s stance against aggression targeting regional stability and underlined the importance of respecting the sovereignty of all nations, particularly in conflict zones such as Syria.

Oman emphasized the urgent need for the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to assume its legal and moral obligations. The statement called for immediate and complete Israeli withdrawal from all occupied Syrian territories. It also urged an end to all hostile actions that threaten the safety of civilians and called for the activation of political mechanisms to address the Syrian crisis under the framework of UN Resolution 2254.

Resolution 2254, adopted unanimously by the UN Security Council in 2015, outlines a roadmap for a Syrian-led political transition. Oman’s reference to this resolution highlights its ongoing commitment to a diplomatic solution that ensures lasting peace and stability in Syria. The Sultanate continues to advocate for international consensus to move the Syrian crisis out of a state of war and into a process of reconstruction and national reconciliation.

In conclusion, Oman reaffirmed its full support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The Foreign Ministry also expressed deep solidarity with the Syrian people and urged global actors to scale up humanitarian assistance. Oman emphasized the necessity of protecting civilian lives and alleviating suffering by ensuring unimpeded humanitarian access and coordinated international relief efforts.
