MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has officially accredited three new companies under its ‘Accreditation Program’ aimed at enhancing the quality of managed security services offered in the Sultanate. This step marks a significant move towards building a stronger and more secure digital infrastructure in Oman, aligning with the nation’s broader digital transformation goals.
These accredited companies are now recognized as trusted providers in the field of IT security, ensuring that businesses and institutions across Oman have access to certified and high-quality cybersecurity services. This accreditation will help in strengthening the defense mechanisms against growing cyber threats, providing organizations with the confidence to operate securely in an increasingly digital environment.
The Accreditation Program is part of a wider initiative by MTCIT to regulate and standardize the IT service sector, focusing particularly on critical services like cybersecurity. By setting stringent requirements and evaluation processes, the program guarantees that only the most capable companies are awarded accreditation, thus raising the overall standard of digital services in the country.
The Ministry emphasized that this move will not only benefit government and private sector entities but also contribute significantly to Oman’s Vision 2040, which prioritizes innovation, digitalization, and the creation of a robust and secure digital economy. The accreditation of these companies reflects the government’s commitment to fostering a safe, resilient, and technologically advanced ecosystem.
