MUSCAT: The Muscat Municipality, in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Royal Oman Police, has taken decisive action against unauthorized tourist camps in the Al Khiran and Yiti areas. A total of 16 illegal camps were removed as part of ongoing efforts to regulate tourism activities and preserve the natural and cultural integrity of these locations. Authorities emphasized that such actions are necessary to ensure compliance with environmental and tourism regulations while maintaining public safety.
Illegal camps have been a growing concern in Oman’s scenic coastal regions, as unregulated tourism can lead to environmental degradation and pose safety risks.
