Mirwais Azizi Donates Dh3 Billion To Fathers’ Endowment Campaign

UAE: In a heartwarming gesture of generosity, Mirwais Azizi, the chairman of Azizi Group of Companies, made a remarkable donation of Dh3 billion towards the Fathers’ Endowment campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This significant announcement was made during the 5th Arab Hope Makers award ceremony held in Dubai. The Fathers’ Endowment campaign is a national initiative aimed at honoring fathers in the UAE by establishing a sustainable endowment fund dedicated to providing treatment and healthcare to the poor and needy.

Azizi, a Dubai-based Afghan businessman, shared that his donation would be used to construct a state-of-the-art charity cancer hospital and research center. This facility will provide free cancer treatment to patients, and it is being built in memory of his daughter, Farishta Jan Azizi, who tragically passed away from cancer last year at the age of 32. The hospital aims to alleviate the need for UAE residents to travel abroad for cancer treatment, offering them a local option of world-class care.

The announcement was accompanied by a touching video that showed Mirwais and his family paying tribute to Farishta. The family’s heartfelt tribute underscored the deep personal connection behind the generous donation. Mirwais revealed that this donation is his largest contribution yet to various charity initiatives launched by Sheikh Mohammed. The construction of the hospital and research center will begin this year, with further updates and location details to be shared through Sheikh Mohammed’s offices.

Mirwais Azizi’s contribution follows the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who declared 2025 as the “Year of Community” under the theme “Hand in Hand.” This national initiative is set to foster greater community engagement and solidarity. With the launch of the Fathers’ Endowment campaign on February 21, the initiative has already surpassed its initial target, with Mirwais Azizi’s donation setting a new benchmark for generosity in the UAE.
