Ministry Warns Public Against Using Unapproved Transport App

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport in Oman has issued a statement clarifying that a certain transport application has not obtained the required approvals as mandated by the Land Transport Law, issued under Royal Decree No. 10/2016 and its executive regulations detailed in Ministerial Resolution No. 2/2018. This announcement serves to inform the public that the app is operating without legal authorization, and using it may contravene established transport regulations. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of compliance to maintain order and safety in the land transport sector.

Reaffirming its commitment to regulating the transportation sector, the Ministry stresses the need for safety, legality, and fair competition across all land transport services in Oman. It warns that legal actions will be taken against violators who use or promote unauthorized transport applications. The Ministry’s stance aims to protect consumers and licensed operators alike from risks associated with unregulated services, ensuring a stable and lawful transport environment throughout the Sultanate.

In a direct appeal, the Ministry calls on all licensed land transport facilities, stakeholders, and users of transport services not to engage with the unapproved application in any capacity. It underlines its readiness to take necessary legal measures against any violations and urges the public to cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities related to the app. This cooperative approach seeks to enhance enforcement and safeguard the integrity of the transportation system.

Concluding the statement, the Ministry thanked the public for their ongoing cooperation and vigilance in supporting a safe, regulated transport environment. It reaffirmed its dedication to continuous oversight and legal enforcement to ensure that land transport services in Oman meet high standards of safety and fairness, contributing positively to the nation’s overall infrastructure and public welfare.
