DUBAI: Dubai experienced light rainfall this morning, marking a shift in weather conditions across the country. Various areas, including Mohadub and Al Raas in Umm Al Quwain, Dibba Al-Hisn in Sharjah, and multiple locations in Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, reported brief showers. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) stated that while the rain was light, it brought a refreshing change to the climate, offering a temporary relief from rising temperatures.
The meteorological office has predicted a gradual increase in temperatures over the coming days. The rise will continue until Tuesday, February 18, when warmer conditions are expected to settle in across the country. Despite the current cool breeze and overcast skies, residents should prepare for a return to the typical warm weather of the region. Authorities have also advised motorists to drive cautiously, as light rain can sometimes make roads slippery, increasing the risk of minor accidents.
In addition to the light rain, humidity levels are expected to fluctuate, contributing to varying weather patterns in different emirates. Coastal and inland areas might experience foggy mornings in the coming days, while the eastern regions could see isolated cloud formations. The NCM continues to monitor the weather closely, providing timely updates to ensure public awareness and preparedness for any sudden changes.
As temperatures begin to climb again, residents and tourists are encouraged to take necessary precautions, including staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours. While today’s rainfall provided a brief reprieve from the usual heat, the UAE is expected to transition back to its warm and dry climate as February progresses.
