MUSCAT: The Lamir Al Mughsail project, founded by Nader bin Bakhit Fadhil and his team, was launched during the 2022 Khareef Dhofar season to leverage the area’s natural beauty, including silver beaches, freshwater fountains, and the nearby Al Marneef Cave. The initiative aims to offer a distinctive tourism experience focused on environmental sustainability while preserving the unique landscape. By integrating natural attractions with visitor amenities, the project provides both leisure and educational opportunities for residents and tourists alike.
Designed to cater to a wide range of visitors, Lamir Al Mughsail features a food and café hub, children’s play zones, bicycle tracks, scenic boat tours through Khor Fadkhit, and beach seating areas. An artificial waterfall adds to the destination’s aesthetic appeal, blending recreation with natural scenery. These features collectively enhance the visitor experience while maintaining harmony with the surrounding environment, making the destination both attractive and sustainable.
Beyond tourism, the project generates significant economic and social benefits. It provides seasonal employment opportunities for young Omanis, supports the local economy, and nurtures practical skills in the tourism and hospitality sector. The initiative also incorporates environmental planning by reorganizing the valley’s layout to ensure cleanliness, preserve natural resources, and maintain a sustainable ecosystem for future generations.
Fadhil emphasized that Lamir Al Mughsail serves as a model for combining creativity, environmental responsibility, and economic development. The project demonstrates how local initiatives can balance commercial viability with social and ecological stewardship. By fostering community involvement and highlighting Oman’s natural attractions, Lamir Al Mughsail contributes to long-term sustainable tourism and positions Dhofar as a premier destination for visitors seeking both beauty and cultural experiences.
