INDIA: The Kolkata Police are investigating the mysterious deaths of three family members, including a 14-year-old girl, who were found dead in their residence on February 19. Initial reports suggested suicide, but autopsy findings ruled this out, leading to suspicions of murder. The two prime suspects, Prasun De and Pranay Dey, husbands of the deceased women, are currently in the hospital after a failed suicide attempt and will be taken into custody upon recovery.
Authorities believe the two men murdered their wives, Romi Dey and Sudeshna Dey, along with Prasun’s teenage daughter, Priyamvada Dey, before attempting to end their own lives. Their plan went awry when their vehicle crashed, prompting the police to investigate. Upon arriving at their home in Tangra, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of the women and the minor girl, sparking deeper scrutiny into the case.
Further investigations have revealed that despite maintaining a lavish lifestyle, the family was struggling with severe financial debt from their leather goods business. Their continued extravagant spending worsened their financial crisis, possibly playing a role in the tragic turn of events. The police are now looking into whether financial distress was a motive behind the alleged murders.
Adding to the mystery, officials discovered that all CCTV cameras in the residence were switched off on the day of the incident. Investigators are now questioning close family associates to understand the full circumstances that led to this horrific crime. The case remains under intense scrutiny as authorities piece together the final moments leading up to the deaths.
