JORDAN: The Jordan Armed Forces have successfully completed the evacuation of the seventh group of ill children from the Gaza Strip as part of the ongoing Jordanian Medical Corridor initiative. According to a military statement released on Wednesday, the latest evacuation included 35 children in need of urgent medical care, accompanied by 72 family members. This humanitarian effort reflects Jordan’s unwavering commitment to providing life-saving healthcare to Palestinian civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza.
The children and their families were transported across the King Hussein Bridge and admitted to local hospitals in Jordan, where they will receive specialized treatment. The operation was meticulously coordinated with the Jordanian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization to ensure the highest levels of medical and logistical support. Both medical safety and national security protocols were strictly followed during the evacuation to ensure a seamless and secure transfer process.
This latest group marks the largest contingent to be evacuated since the initiative began in March 2024. With this mission, the total number of children transferred for treatment now stands at 112, accompanied by 241 family members. These figures highlight the growing scale of the humanitarian undertaking, which aims to provide hope and healing to Gaza’s most vulnerable population—its children.
The initiative follows the announcement made by His Majesty King Abdullah II in February, reaffirming Jordan’s readiness to accept up to 2,000 Palestinian children for medical treatment. The King’s directive is part of Jordan’s broader commitment to humanitarian values and regional solidarity, reflecting the country’s leadership in extending compassionate support to those in dire need amidst ongoing regional crises.
