Muscat: Oman’s First Muscat Flower Festival to Premiere at Qurum Natural Park
Oman’s inaugural Muscat Flower Festival is set to make its debut as part of the Muscat Nights Festival, transforming Qurum Natural Park into a stunning floral showcase. This festival will celebrate the splendor of nature, art, and diverse environments.
Organized by the Muscat Municipality, the first-ever event will take place from December 23, 2024, to January 21, 2025. It promises to be a captivating tribute to nature’s beauty, featuring spectacular floral displays by international designers and highlighting local Omani talent.
The festival will present the creations of renowned floral artists from France, the Netherlands, the USA, as well as Oman’s own celebrated florist, Madhvi Ramesh Khimji, and her team of local designers. Oman is notably the first GCC country to join the World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA).
A major highlight of the event will be the Grand Floral Centrepiece, “Roots of Wonders, Canopies of Dreams,” standing at 9 meters high at the highest point of the display. This breathtaking artwork is set to leave visitors in awe. Additionally, visitors can enjoy specially designed Show Gardens, crafted by international teams from Singapore, Thailand, China, and the USA.
Families will find an array of hands-on activities that blend art, nature, and creativity. From making floral bracelets and crowns to painting flowerpots and sculpting clay animals, both the young and the young at heart can unleash their creativity and connect with nature. The festival promises to offer something for all ages, with interactive experiences designed to spark curiosity, foster a love for nature, and create lasting memories.
The event will also feature a vibrant marketplace, where visitors can purchase fresh flowers, handmade crafts, and floral-inspired food and beverages.
Hanan bint Abdullah Al Shuraiqi, Technical Supervisor of the Muscat Flower Festival at Muscat Municipality, shared, “This event aims to blend global floral artistry with local cultural elements, offering an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. We are excited to welcome guests from across Oman and the region to celebrate creativity, nature, and Oman’s rich heritage in this world-class event.”
The Muscat Flower Festival is part of the larger Muscat Nights Festival, which spans multiple venues in Muscat from December 23, 2024, to January 21, 2025. This collaboration enhances Muscat’s winter calendar, offering a unique mix of cultural and artistic experiences for all visitors.
