His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik Reviews 2025 Plans

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over a significant meeting with the Council of Ministers at Al Barakah Palace, where he praised the achievements of 2024 and outlined plans for 2025. The Sultan emphasized the importance of Oman’s Renewed Renaissance and expressed his gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon the nation. He hoped that the upcoming year would bring continued success and advancements, particularly in achieving the aspirations set out during his leadership over the last five years. His Majesty expressed his heartfelt prayers for health and prosperity for the Omani people.

During the meeting, the Sultan highlighted the importance of economic growth and development, stressing the need to focus on diversification and increasing non-oil revenues. He acknowledged the efforts of the government, which contributed to positive outcomes in 2024, particularly in terms of expanding the productive base of the economy. The Sultan emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in fostering growth through partnerships with the government and encouraged the continuation of strategic economic collaborations with other countries to strengthen Oman’s position on the global stage.

His Majesty also spoke about the importance of the National Local Content Policy to foster local industries and minimize reliance on imports. He encouraged the development of Omani industries and the creation of more domestic projects, which would bolster the country’s economic independence. The Sultan emphasized the necessity of enhancing exports and supporting related productive sectors, as well as the need to strengthen the national economy through these initiatives. He also directed the Council to focus on these positive factors that would drive economic growth and create new opportunities for Omani citizens.

The meeting also covered various social and health initiatives, which have been a priority for the Sultanate. His Majesty expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the health sector, commending the efforts of the Ministry of Health. He approved the establishment of the National Genome and Human Data Centre to improve genetic research and early diagnosis of hereditary diseases. Additionally, he directed the creation of a National Centre for Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery to meet the increasing demand for healthcare services, as well as a national cancer detection program aimed at enhancing early diagnosis across the country. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to improving the well-being of Omani citizens.
