Etihad Airways Resumes Flights To Peshawar After A Decade

UAE: Etihad Airways has officially restarted its operations to Peshawar after more than ten years, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s regional connectivity. The inaugural flight, EY-276, departed from Abu Dhabi and was greeted with a ceremonial water salute upon arrival at Peshawar International Airport. The resumption of services reflects Etihad’s strategy to expand its footprint across South Asia, providing passengers with more convenient travel options between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.

The airline announced that it will operate five weekly flights on this route, specifically on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound flight from Abu Dhabi offers flexible scheduling for both business and leisure travelers, while the return flight, EY-277, is set to depart Peshawar at 8 a.m., ensuring passengers can easily connect to Etihad’s global network via Abu Dhabi. This consistent schedule is expected to attract frequent travelers who seek reliable service to and from the Gulf region.

The addition of Peshawar to Etihad’s network also highlights the increasing demand for air travel between Pakistan and the UAE, fueled by strong expatriate communities and growing trade ties. Peshawar, being a vital hub in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is home to a large population of overseas workers who regularly travel to the Gulf for employment opportunities. The airline’s return provides these travelers with greater accessibility, affordability, and choice, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a major transit point for international connections.

This move positions Etihad as the third international airline to begin operations from Peshawar in 2025, reflecting renewed confidence in the city’s aviation market. The decision not only strengthens ties between the UAE and Pakistan but also enhances regional aviation growth by offering competitive alternatives for travelers. With the resumption of flights, Etihad is set to play an instrumental role in boosting connectivity, economic exchange, and cultural ties between Abu Dhabi, Peshawar, and beyond.
