DUBAI: The Dubai Metro Blue Line is set to begin operations on September 9, 2029, marking a significant milestone in the city’s transportation evolution. This 30-kilometer project will serve as a crucial connector, linking several key locations across the emirate. With 14 stations strategically placed throughout Dubai, including key interchange points like Creek Station on the Green Line and Centrepoint Station on the Red Line, the Blue Line will integrate seamlessly into the existing metro network, providing smoother, faster travel for residents and visitors alike.
Construction on the Blue Line will begin in April 2025, with the project being completed in several phases. The line will span a total of 30 kilometers, with 15.5 kilometers running underground and 14.5 kilometers above ground. This extensive underground portion will help minimize the impact on the city’s existing infrastructure while ensuring the line can serve areas that would otherwise be difficult to access. The above-ground portion will run through key neighborhoods and commercial districts, offering passengers a scenic view of the city.
The Blue Line will offer a direct connection between Dubai International Airport and several other important locations, including Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Dubai Festival City. This will not only improve travel time for daily commuters but will also help reduce congestion on the city’s roadways, offering a more sustainable and efficient alternative for residents and tourists traveling to and from the airport and across the city.
The introduction of the Blue Line is expected to play a key role in the ongoing development of Dubai’s transportation network.
