CDAA Responds To Major Industrial Fire In Muscat

MUSCAT: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) reported that its operations centre received an emergency call late at night regarding a major industrial fire in Muscat. In response, the Authority immediately dispatched firefighting and ambulance units to the site. Teams worked continuously through the night, taking measures to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby facilities, which required coordinated efforts and specialised equipment to ensure safety and minimise damage.

The Authority confirmed that the blaze has been completely extinguished following hours of intense work by its teams. This successful operation highlights the CDAA’s rapid response capabilities and the effectiveness of its coordination between various emergency units. It also underscores the importance of advanced training and preparation for large-scale industrial incidents, where immediate action can significantly reduce risks to life and property.

In its statement, the CDAA urged all companies and industrial establishments to strictly adhere to the safety regulations and fire prevention guidelines it issues. The Authority stressed that these rules are in place to protect both employees and infrastructure and that neglecting them can lead to serious consequences, including loss of life, property damage, and potential legal penalties. This call for compliance serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility between regulators and businesses to maintain high safety standards.

The CDAA also reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing inspections, awareness campaigns, and the provision of emergency response training for industrial entities across the Sultanate. By reinforcing preventive measures and ensuring readiness, the Authority aims to reduce the recurrence of such incidents. This approach not only safeguards workers and communities but also strengthens public confidence in the nation’s emergency response systems and the resilience of Oman’s industrial sector.
