MUSCAT: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has deployed its firefighting teams to respond swiftly to a fire that erupted in one of the warehouses located within the industrial zone of the Wilayat of Barka. Upon receiving the emergency alert, teams rushed to the scene, fully equipped with fire engines, protective gear, and containment tools to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent facilities.
Officials from the CDAA confirmed that the firefighting efforts are ongoing, with personnel working under challenging conditions due to the warehouse’s size and the nature of stored materials, which can complicate suppression operations. The teams are employing both ground and aerial resources to tackle the blaze from multiple angles and ensure that any hidden fire pockets are completely extinguished.
Safety measures have been put in place to secure the surrounding area and protect nearby businesses and residents. Local authorities have cordoned off access routes to the site to facilitate emergency operations and to minimize risks to the public. The CDAA also urged people in the vicinity to cooperate with the instructions issued by emergency responders and avoid obstructing the firefighting efforts.
At present, the cause of the fire has not been determined, and an investigation will be launched once the situation is fully under control. The CDAA reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and stressed the importance of adherence to fire safety standards in industrial zones to prevent similar incidents in the future.
