MUSCAT: The launch of an eight-week intensive Arabic Language Teachers Preparation Course marks a significant step in fostering cultural exchange and linguistic skills. This program, hosted in Muscat, brings together participants from diverse nations such as the UK, Russia, South Korea, and El Salvador. The opening day offered an engaging experience with a warm welcome from faculty, a guided tour of the institute’s modern facilities, and a presentation showcasing Oman’s rich heritage and cultural vibrancy.
This comprehensive program is designed to immerse participants in the Arabic language and culture. Over 160 hours of language lessons are complemented by enriching activities such as calligraphy workshops, art classes, cultural evenings, and educational tours to Oman’s historical and natural landmarks. These experiences aim to deepen participants’ understanding of the Arabic language while providing a window into Omani traditions and lifestyle.
The course also includes an intensive four-week module dedicated to second language acquisition theories, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development. Through applied teaching sessions and field visits, participants will gain hands-on experience, refining their skills to effectively teach Arabic to non-native speakers. This approach ensures a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
With a focus on global collaboration, the program emphasizes the role of language as a bridge for cultural understanding. By equipping educators with advanced skills and fostering connections between participants and the local community, the initiative not only enhances Arabic language education but also promotes mutual respect and appreciation among diverse cultures.
