MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced that the Al Wusta Governorate Police Command, in collaboration with the Special Taskforce Police Unit in Haima, successfully apprehended twenty-seven individuals of African nationalities for illegally entering Oman. The arrests were part of a coordinated security effort aimed at addressing illegal immigration and safeguarding national borders. According to ROP, the operation underscores their commitment to combating infiltration activities that pose risks to security and stability within the Sultanate.
Investigations revealed that a citizen played a key role in facilitating the illegal entry of these individuals. The person was detained for transporting the infiltrators by land, providing logistical support, and assisting them in bypassing official entry procedures. Authorities emphasized that such actions constitute a serious offense under Omani law, and strict measures will be taken against anyone found guilty of aiding or abetting infiltration crimes.
Legal procedures are currently underway for all those involved, including the foreign nationals and the detained citizen. The individuals will face judicial processes according to Omani laws governing border security and illegal migration. The Royal Oman Police reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward infiltration attempts, stressing that violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to maintain the safety and sovereignty of the nation.
ROP further urged citizens and residents to cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities related to illegal immigration. Public vigilance plays a vital role in preventing such incidents and supporting law enforcement in preserving the integrity of Oman’s borders. Authorities warned that anyone assisting infiltrators in any capacity would face severe penalties, reiterating the importance of adherence to national laws for the collective security and well-being of society.
