Al Dhahirah Municipal Council Reviews Key Health And Development Issues

AL DHAHIRAH: The Municipal Council of Al Dhahirah Governorate held its tenth session for the year 2024, where various important issues were discussed, focusing on the development of health services and municipal enhancements across the region. Chaired by His Excellency Najib bin Ali Al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, the meeting served as an essential platform for addressing key topics affecting the quality of life for the residents in the wilayats. One of the major highlights was the discussion on beautifying the facades of the governorate, with plans to improve their aesthetic appeal in different wilayats, creating a more pleasant environment for residents and visitors alike.

In addition to the beautification project, the council deliberated on the construction of pedestrian bridges at strategic locations on main roads. The aim of this proposal is to enhance pedestrian safety, especially in busy areas with heavy traffic. These bridges are expected to reduce accidents and make it easier for people to cross roads safely. This initiative reflects the council’s commitment to improving the infrastructure in Al Dhahirah and ensuring a higher standard of living for its citizens.

Another significant topic on the agenda was the regulation of food carts and mobile cafes. The council discussed measures to ensure that these services meet the necessary health and professional standards. By regulating these mobile food services, the council hopes to maintain a high level of quality service and hygiene, which is essential for public health. The proposal aims to improve the overall dining experience for the residents while ensuring that businesses comply with safety and health regulations.

Dr. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Kalbani, Director General of the General Directorate of Health Services in Al Dhahirah, also made a special presentation during the session. He provided insights into the National Survey Project for Non-Communicable Diseases, which aims to assess the region’s health challenges and needs. Dr. Al Kalbani also highlighted ongoing health projects and services available to residents, discussing the Ministry of Health’s upcoming five-year plan. His presentation emphasized the importance of improving medical facilities in Al Dhahirah to meet the future health needs of the governorate’s population, ensuring that adequate healthcare services are available for everyone.
