MUSCAT: More than 854,000 students across Oman returned to classrooms today as the 2025/2026 academic year officially commenced in 1,303 public schools spread across the governorates. The Ministry of Education reported that the total student population includes 430,461 male students and 424,079 female students, supported by a teaching workforce of 66,386 educators, comprising 20,788 male and 45,598 female teachers. This reflects Oman’s ongoing commitment to providing quality education and ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
The Ministry emphasized that the academic year’s start has been carefully planned to ensure a smooth transition for students and staff alike. Schools have implemented measures to support both traditional and modern learning approaches, integrating digital learning tools, interactive classroom technologies, and mobile science laboratories.
