Royal Oman Police Foil Major Armed Robbery in Muscat

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has successfully apprehended four masked individuals of Asian nationality who were involved in an armed robbery targeting a gold shop in the Wilayat of Seeb, Muscat. According to official reports, the suspects stormed the premises, threatened and assaulted the staff, and managed to steal gold jewelry and cash worth more than 150,000 Omani Rials. The swift and coordinated response by the Muscat Governorate Police Command, North Al Batinah Police Command, and the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations led to the arrest of the perpetrators shortly after the incident.

The investigation revealed that the robbery was meticulously planned, with the suspects using masks and weapons to intimidate employees and ensure a quick getaway. However, the efficiency of the ROP’s criminal investigation teams ensured that the criminals were tracked down using advanced surveillance and intelligence operations. Law enforcement authorities confirmed that all stolen items were recovered, including the gold jewelry and cash, eliminating any potential financial loss for the business involved.
