Minister Reviews College’s Progress, Meets Students And Staff

MUSCAT: As part of her continued oversight of higher education institutions in the Sultanate, Her Excellency paid a visit to the college to monitor its academic and administrative advancements. The visit provided her with an opportunity to review ongoing developments, assess institutional performance, and evaluate how the college is aligning with national education goals. Her Excellency’s presence emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation and support in enhancing the educational ecosystem in Oman.

During the visit, Her Excellency met with Dr. Hamoud bin Amer Al Wardi, Dean of the College, along with his deputies to discuss recent achievements and forward-looking strategies aimed at improving education quality. The dialogue covered a wide range of topics including curriculum development, research output, faculty performance, and strategic planning. Key areas of focus also included improving student services and aligning the institution’s goals with Oman Vision 2040.

Her Excellency also held a dedicated session with the heads of the administrative departments to explore ways of creating a more supportive and dynamic learning environment. Discussions centered around improving infrastructure, expanding student support systems, enhancing internationalization efforts, and boosting the college’s global competitiveness. Staff were encouraged to propose new initiatives and share practical solutions to long-standing challenges facing the institution.

In a separate interactive session with the Student Advisory Council, Her Excellency listened to students’ views on academic and campus life. She emphasized the council’s pivotal role in shaping students’ leadership and communication skills. Additionally, she encouraged student participation in national programs such as ‘We Are Oman’ and to contribute to educational development by supporting the ‘Siraj Education Endowment Foundation’. The session concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthening student engagement and ensuring an inclusive academic environment.
