MUSCAT: The General Federation of Oman Workers (GFOW) and the Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO) have entered into a formal cooperation agreement aimed at reinforcing their collaboration on issues concerning labour relations and employee welfare. The signing of this agreement marks a strategic step toward promoting sustainable industrial harmony and fostering an environment where workers’ rights are protected and prioritized.
The agreement outlines specific frameworks for mutual cooperation in several areas, including labour rights education, conflict resolution mechanisms, and mechanisms to support dialogue between employees and management. Both parties agreed to conduct joint workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to improve communication, understanding, and compliance with Oman’s labour regulations and international labour standards.
Additionally, the partnership will serve to support workplace stability by ensuring that both workers’ concerns and management expectations are addressed transparently and constructively. GFOW emphasized the importance of such agreements in developing a productive and rights-conscious workforce that contributes positively to national economic growth.
