New Indian Visa Centres To Open Across Oman

MUSCAT: SGIVS Global Services has announced the launch of 11 dedicated application centres across Oman to offer a full range of consular, passport, and visa services for the Indian community residing in the Sultanate. These centres aim to streamline document processing and enhance access to essential services for Indian nationals, especially those living in remote areas or without easy access to diplomatic missions. The initiative reflects a growing commitment to serve one of the largest expatriate communities in Oman more efficiently.

The new centres will be strategically located in various governorates including Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, Nizwa, and Sur, ensuring wide regional coverage. Services offered will include passport renewal, OCI card applications, police clearance certificates, visa processing, and attestation services. SGIVS officials confirmed that the centres will operate under the guidance of the Indian Embassy in Muscat, ensuring all procedures align with official requirements and standards.

This expansion is expected to significantly reduce processing times and travel burdens for applicants, eliminating the need for frequent trips to Muscat. The move also enhances consular outreach and community engagement, as each centre will include dedicated support staff trained in handling queries and facilitating appointments in multiple Indian languages. Special consideration is also being given to elderly and differently-abled applicants, with many centres set to include accessibility features.

The Indian Embassy has welcomed the move, describing it as a “major step in citizen service delivery,” and has assured the Indian diaspora of its ongoing commitment to strengthening administrative convenience. The launch of these centres aligns with India’s broader goal of improving consular access worldwide and will contribute to a more integrated and responsive support system for Indian nationals living and working in Oman.
