MUSCAT: The Foreign Ministry has confirmed the successful repatriation of 28 Omani nationals who were brought back to the country through a coordinated maritime operation. The citizens were transported via Bandar Abbas Port in Iran to Khasab Port in Oman, demonstrating the Ministry’s proactive approach to ensuring the safety and welfare of its nationals stranded abroad due to unforeseen circumstances or logistical challenges.
In addition to the maritime repatriation, Muscat International Airport received 23 more citizens returning from the Republic of Türkiye. This dual operation highlights the Ministry’s commitment to covering multiple regions simultaneously and ensuring that Omanis, regardless of where they are, have access to safe and organized repatriation channels. Such efforts often require intricate planning and close coordination with various international ports and airports to guarantee smooth transit.
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Tehran played a critical role in the operation, working hand in hand with local Iranian authorities and Oman’s domestic agencies. By liaising with regional partners and managing on-the-ground logistics, the Embassy ensured that all necessary procedures, clearances, and safety protocols were thoroughly followed, minimizing any disruption to the return process.
Reiterating its pledge to protect citizens wherever they are in the world, the Foreign Ministry emphasized that it will continue to mobilize resources and collaborate with competent bodies to facilitate the safe return of Omanis during emergencies. These repatriation efforts not only reflect the government’s dedication to its people but also strengthen Oman’s diplomatic ties through responsible and effective crisis management.
