Wife Murders Husband On Honeymoon With Four Hitmen

INDIA: Indian police have revealed a chilling case involving the murder of 30-year-old Raja Raghuvanshi, allegedly orchestrated by his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Authorities report that Sonam hired four men, including her lover Raj Kushwaha, to execute the killing, paying them Rs 20 lakhs (around OMR 8,000). The plan culminated in Raja’s body being discovered in a gorge in Sohra near Cherrapunji, while Sonam was later found near a roadside eatery on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway. The case has gripped India, especially as it unfolds during what was supposed to be the newlyweds’ celebratory trip.

The accused, Sonam, along with Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand, have been arrested in connection with the premeditated murder. Investigators believe the motive behind the crime was Sonam’s ongoing relationship with Raj Kushwaha, with whom she plotted to eliminate her husband. Raja and Sonam, residents of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, were reported missing during their Meghalaya vacation. Upon discovering Raja’s body, police swiftly pieced together communication records and movement trails, which led them to the suspects.

Public outrage intensified when Raja’s family spoke out. Uma Raghuvanshi, Raja’s mother, recounted a conversation with Sonam’s brother, Govind, who expressed shock and called for his sister’s execution. According to Uma, Govind apologized deeply and confirmed he no longer had any ties with Sonam. He even admitted he couldn’t confront her directly during their brief encounter because of the media and police presence. These personal revelations have added an emotional layer to an already disturbing case, reflecting the betrayal and grief felt by both families.

Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, echoed these sentiments, stating that Govind had reached out, confessed his sister’s crime, and requested her to be punished appropriately. Govind publicly stated that based on all the available evidence, he is certain of Sonam’s guilt and confirmed that his family has severed all ties with her. The case remains under investigation, but the confessions, arrest of the suspects, and family statements all point to a shocking, calculated murder planned during what should have been the happiest days of a marriage.
