MUSCAT: The Food Safety and Quality Centre (FSQC) has issued an urgent public warning regarding the bottled drinking water brand ‘Al Furath.’ The warning follows the discovery of bacterial contamination in certain batches of the product. Consumers have been advised to avoid using the water and to dispose of any existing stock immediately to prevent any health risks.
The FSQC emphasized that the contamination could pose a serious threat to public health, particularly to individuals with compromised immune systems, the elderly, and children. It is urging consumers to check the packaging and batch numbers of any purchased ‘Al Furath’ water bottles. The affected batches should be discarded immediately to minimize any potential risks.
The FSQC is coordinating with relevant authorities to investigate the source of the contamination and prevent further distribution of the affected water bottles. Additionally, the center has advised all retailers to remove the affected products from their shelves and to stop selling them until further notice.
