MUSCAT: Saudi Aramco has revealed the discovery of 14 new oil and gas sites across the Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter, a significant development in the kingdom’s ongoing efforts to expand its energy resources. The announcement includes six new oil fields, two oil reservoirs, two natural gas fields, and four gas reservoirs, underscoring the vast untapped potential of the region.
According to Aramco, the newly identified sites are already showing promising production capabilities. Some wells are yielding thousands of barrels of crude oil per day, while others are producing millions of cubic feet of natural gas daily. These early indicators suggest that the new discoveries could become vital components of the kingdom’s future energy portfolio.
Saudi officials emphasized that the discoveries will contribute to meeting both local and global energy demands. By increasing the kingdom’s energy output, these new fields will enhance Saudi Arabia’s position as a key player in the international energy market and ensure a stable supply chain.
Additionally, the move is closely aligned with the Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy while promoting sustainability and responsible resource development. The exploration and efficient utilization of these new fields are expected to boost economic growth, provide new job opportunities, and support national development goals across multiple sectors.
