North Al Batinah Road Development Aims To Boost Connectivity

MUSCAT: The initiative is designed to improve connectivity between residential and commercial areas, easing movement between villages while fostering urban growth and economic development across the region.

Eng. Nasser bin Ahmed Al Hinai, Director General of North Al Batinah Municipality, emphasized the extensive scope of the project, which includes the development of internal roads across all wilayats in the governorate. This ambitious initiative is set to enhance transportation infrastructure and promote seamless integration within the region.

In Sohar, 60 kilometers of road development are currently underway, which include 27 kilometers of internal roads, the paving of mountain roads linking Al Arad to the expressway, and the construction of 18 kilometers of roads in compensation areas. Additionally, roads in Falaj Al Souq are being designed and paved to connect mountainous and residential zones, contributing to enhanced accessibility for local communities.

Saham is also witnessing major roadwork progress, with 62 kilometers of internal roads under construction. This development primarily focuses on improving infrastructure in urban areas to facilitate smoother commutes and provide better connectivity to surrounding regions.
