MUSCAT: Omani youth are increasingly turning their hobbies and daily activities into commercial ventures, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas. This trend reflects the growing desire among young Omanis to make an impact in the global market. The shift is part of a broader vision for the future, where the younger generation seeks to create brands that resonate with consumers, offering products and services that stand out for their uniqueness and quality.
One notable example of this entrepreneurial drive is “Seven Fries,” a brand specializing in fresh French fries. Founded by Issa bin Saleh Al Aghbari in 2021, “Seven Fries” started in the Wilayat of Seeb, Muscat Governorate. Despite being relatively new, the brand has already expanded quickly, opening three branches in Muscat and Dhofar Governorates. This rapid growth highlights the strong demand for fresh and high-quality fast food options in Oman, and the success of “Seven Fries” in meeting this need.
The brand’s success didn’t go unnoticed, as it was selected from more than 300 Omani brands to participate in the franchise programme by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This opportunity allowed Issa Al Aghbari to sign an agreement with the Chamber, which was crucial for developing the brand further. As a result, “Seven Fries” has been able to attract attention beyond Oman, setting the stage for international expansion in key markets.
In 2024, “Seven Fries” signed its first international commercial franchise contract in the Wilayat of Al Amerat in Muscat Governorate. The company didn’t stop there, expanding globally with franchises in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and Islamabad, Pakistan. Additionally, the brand has secured an exclusive contract in India, with plans to open 300 branches there. As the demand for “Seven Fries” grows, the brand is now exploring franchise opportunities in other global markets, particularly in the United States.
