SAUDIA ARABIA: Authorities in Medina have launched a new initiative to enhance child safety at the Prophet’s Mosque by introducing tracking bracelets for children accompanying their parents. This service is designed to help parents monitor their children while they perform prayers, ensuring a secure environment, especially during the busy period of Ramadan. Each bracelet is linked to a verification code that allows mosque authorities to quickly access the registered contact information of a child’s family, ensuring immediate assistance when needed.
The General Authority for Care of the Prophet’s Mosque has made the service widely available at key locations within the mosque. Parents can obtain the tracking bracelets from service centers on the northern and southern sides of the mosque, as well as the children’s hospitality center in the northeastern section. These measures aim to provide a seamless and safe experience for families visiting the mosque, particularly as the number of visitors increases during the holy month of Ramadan.
In preparation for Ramadan, authorities in Medina have implemented extensive plans to accommodate the influx of worshippers. A series of initiatives have been introduced, focusing on enhancing the spiritual experience of visitors through high-quality services. These include 220 Holy Quran memorization sessions and over 20,000 hours dedicated to teaching and correcting recitations. Additionally, scholarly courses are now available in ten languages, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to gain deeper religious knowledge.
To further ease the experience of worshippers, Medina’s public transport authorities have introduced a shuttle bus service to the Prophet’s Mosque. These buses operate along several key routes across the city, making travel to and from the mosque more convenient for residents and visitors. This initiative, along with the new tracking bracelet service, reflects the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all those who visit the holy site during Ramadan.
