National Holidays Celebrate History and Development

BAHRAIN: The Kingdom of Bahrain will commemorate its national holidays on December 16 and 17, celebrating three major milestones: the establishment of the modern Bahraini state in 1783, its 53rd anniversary of joining the United Nations, and the 25th anniversary of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s reign. These celebrations underscore Bahrain’s rich history and its strides in modernization and leadership under King Hamad.

This year’s festivities reflect Bahrain’s achievements in sustainable development and economic growth. The country has solidified its position as a regional leader in financial and trade freedom, showcasing its commitment to diversification and resilience. A notable 9% increase in foreign direct investment in 2024 further highlights Bahrain’s success in attracting international partnerships and fostering economic innovation.

Bahrain’s ambassador to Oman, His Excellency Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, emphasized the significance of these national holidays in celebrating the kingdom’s historic rise and commitment to progress. He praised the leadership of King Hamad for driving the country toward a modern and globally influential state. Key accomplishments, such as leading the Financial, Trade, and Investment Freedom Index in the Middle East, illustrate Bahrain’s competitive edge.

As the kingdom celebrates its milestones, it also looks ahead, continuing its journey toward sustainable development and enhanced global standing. These achievements not only honor Bahrain’s past but also set the stage for a future of innovation, prosperity, and international collaboration.
